    wboguski:

    1. The Woods - The Hold
A chill low-fi band, recorded “the woods” Sleater-Kinney style.  If you need a equation : (Beat Happening + Yo La Tengo) / Moldy Peaches.

    2. Beat Happening - Noise
An old classic that suits autumn’s color saturation.

    3. Modest Mouse - Mice Eat Cheese
I wish a lot of bands would go back to being a little more lo-fi… It’s almost like we’ve forgotten the power of a lingering note and the occasional discourse.

    4. Do Make Say Think - A With Living
The most epic campfire song ever.

    5. Tortoise - Glass Museum
Honestly a guilt trip on over thinking the fact that the DMST song has vocals.  One of the more hopeful jams on here.

    6. Elliott Smith - Stupidity Tries
Last year I believe Mr. Smith hit everyone’s mixes.  Figure 8 has been my current fix.

    7. Wilco - Solitaire
Been trying to reinvigorate love for Tweedy and Co.  This is my favorite song of the last album.  I watched parts of Ashes of American Flags a few nights ago.  The songs I love are nailed so well.  They’ve certainly become more effortless.

    8. Monsters of Folk - The Sandman, the Brakeman and Me
I’ve only listened to a little of this album, pre-release and even now having it.  Still haven’t fully committed to it yet.  I dig this song thus far.  I think the flow is throwing me off.

    9. Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place
John said it best when he challenged everyone to a timed review of In Rainbows and stopped before saying “Just listen to it… “

    10. St. Vincent - Now, Now
Angel made a great comparison to St. Vincent album progression and Stars’ Heart to Set Yourself on Fire.  Still I really love some songs off heart, and totally dig Marry Me.  This is a classic intro tune.

    11. The Stone Roses - Made of Stone
The re-issue sparked a revisit.  The variety of styles and obvious influence on many of my favorite bands make it irresistible.

    12. Grizzly Bear - All We Ask
Every time I listen to Veckatimest I fall in love with a different song.  I still think the keys in Two Weeks blows away the intro, but part of the fun is the immersion and build.

    13. Animal Collective - Grass
Fall always passes swiftly for me.  The urgency of enjoyment and awe in nature drew to this song.

    14. Sunset Rundown - Us Ones In Between
This some always strikes me when I listen to it.  Totally a band I love more lo-fi, but the new album is still good.  I almost put You Go On Ahead (trumpet, trumpet II) but I felt it was too much.

    15. The Microphones - The Blow, Pt. 2 (Live in Japan 2003)
I’m planing on going to the Halloween Mount Eerie show.  Anyone interested in also going to the wordless music series the follow night too?
